Barracuda

The fastest fish on the flats is the Barracuda.

I’ve had them hit my tube on the way out of the water, and not land for ten feet!

Yesterday, I had two very large cudas charge after my bright yellow, 8″ long cuda tube from 30 feet apart.

They swarmed the lure all the way back to the boat, and then sped off to hide again.

The Barracuda has one of the most startling strikes of any fish, and somehow, manages to avoid being hooked more often then not.

The smile of a Barracuda is intimidating to say the least…thank God I’m not a needle fish on the flats!
